Ryton Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 1714 celebrated their Silver or 25th anniversary in style by advancing their newest member, Bro. Steven Goss, so increasing their membership to 32.
To help commemorate this wonderful occasion, the Provincial Grand Master brought a full Provincial Deputation to the north of the Province.
The candidate, Bro Steven Goss had been looking forward to the ceremony of advancement and was keen to get started. He decided to join Ryton Lodge after having become good friends with the Master Brian Graham when he visited the Burnopfield Masonic Hall years earlier. He was advanced in style and the Provincial Grand Master remarking later that the ceremony was carried out to a very high standard and with sensitivity towards the candidate.
Following the ceremony, the Provincial Chaplain, Keith Dinning presented an oration referring to the birth of the Lodge and its progress to its 25th year. He later remarked on his hopes for the future and utilising an old cliché “may your silver turn to gold”.
The excellent festive board was enjoyed by a full dining hall and it was so wonderful that there were seven founding members of the Lodge present to see their vision in action. It must have been immensely satisfying for those founders to witness such a wonderful occasion and a packed dining hall. Let’s hope the golden anniversary is equally as good.
