The Mark Benevolent Fund helps sow the seeds for some future enjoyment at Seaham
Just in time for the new season, W Bro Allan Gurney, Provincial Grand Secretary, and V W Bro Roy Neville, Provincial Grand Charity Steward, presented £500 to the Shaw Trust Garden Centre at Parkside in Seaham on behalf of the Province of Durham Mark Benevolent Committee. This enterprise enables adults with limited learning ability and autism to enjoy an occupation which is beneficial to both their health and the community.
The grant will be used to create a concrete pathway to a new raised bed area which was not previously accessible to wheelchair users.
Our Mark team, which included our photographer and editor W Bro Martin Schoolkate, were extremely impressed with the dedication shown by the organisers and enjoyed meeting the users of the facility.
